| | | BILWINCO has developed a number of tools for the automated filling of preformed trays. One of these tools operates continuously, which means that filling takes place while the trays are in motion the tool following above the trays at the same time as they are filled with the product. This provides a second to none capacity in the filling process.
| | The tool consists of a distribution system that distributes the weighed out portions into accumulation buckets, which are adapted to the trays and the required positions of the ingredients they are to contain. The accumulation buckets are mounted on a sliding bracket, the speed of which is synchronised with the actual speed of the trays in the tray sealer. Filling is done without spillage on the welding surface.
Increased capacity and improved filling
The advantage of using continuous filling in stead of start/stop filling is that the manufacturer can run the filling process with a much higher capacity without splashing over of liquids/sauces on the welding surfaces due to the fact that no abrupt movements are involved.
The continuous filling tool is particularly suitable for weighing and filling of small portions of oven-ready dishes. In continuous operation with portions of 50-100 g, it is possible to achieve a capacity of up to 100 trays a minute.
Stationary filling tools
BILWINCO also supplies stationary filling tools. With a stationary filling tool, which fills trays while the conveyor has stopped (indexed operation) it is possible to achieve a capacity of up to 50 trays a minute. The stationary tool is therefore well-suited to production runs with lower capacity requirements.
BILWINCO filling tools are designed to place weighed portions onto specific parts of the trays. This position can be altered when changing the tray layout.
Hygienic and mobile solutions
The design of the filling system is also extremely hygienic - ensuring quick and easy cleaning. A wheeled version is available, so it can be easily moved to another packing line, or away from the packing line completely for cleaning.
The tools can be integrated with all types of tray sealers.
